Hand picked and exceptionally talented. Sunnyside performers are their own vibe.
From high energy and dancy, to warm and grounding. While our roster of performers is richly diverse, it is the shared mission to elevate the educational value of entertainment for children and parents alike by infusing the insight and guidance of speech therapists, pediatric behaviorists, and early childhood educators into every Sunnyside original song, story, or performance.
Creative Director / Singer / Songwriter
Johnny 'Pancakes' Vallone
+ Born in Chicago, living in Los Angeles since 2006.
+ High energy performer.
+ Prolific songwriter across several genres. Has composed over 70 songs for children 2-6 which continue to air in parts of the United States as well as several countries in South America.
+ Parent's Choice Award recipient.
+ Strives to create songs that both parents and kids can equally enjoy.
Singer / Songwriter / Storyteller
Isabelle McAllister
+ Los Angeles native.
+ Registered nurse.
+ Mission is to help children cultivate their individuality through imaginative, inspiring,
educational songs and stories.
+ Children are incredibly intelligent and self aware. I hope to nurture, celebrate, and cultivate the spark that exists within each child.
Storyteller / Actor / Illustrator
Jeffrey Vernon
+ Los Angeles native.
+ Illustrator for many years and has illustrated over 35 children's books!
+ Positive in-person experiences are so important as opposed to watching someone on the computer or phone.
+ My Superpower: Connecting and engaging with people in a fun and upbeat way.
Storyteller / Comedian
Em Allyn
+ Grew up in Michigan and has since lived in Alaska, Alabama, and California.
+ 10+ years in finance before a long career in eldercare.
+ I love spending time with both children and the elderly for similar reasons: kids and seniors all tend to be imaginative, joyful and curious.
+ Children deserve new stories. They deserve to hear stories that support and confirm their personhood and agency. There's no reason to tell the same stories just because those are the stories that already exist, when it's fun and exciting to write new ones!
Community Director
Jake
+ Jake is chill. Dude is always outside either surfing, vibing with the Sunnyside community, or kicking it by the bonfire at Sunnyside HQ.
+ Always in search for 'the realness', Jake would love to hear what you liked / didn't like about a Sunnyside experience. Tell him what could be improved upon. And of course, tell him what Sunnyside absolutely nailed that will have you coming back week after week!
